How to Raise Funds for Your Move

Money is always hard to come by and in today’s economy; every dollar earned is an uphill battle. If you plan to move out of town you are probably looking for a way to earn some extra cash.
If you are like most people, you will want to say goodbye to all of your family and friends before you leave. A great way to both see everyone before leaving, and raise money for your move is to throw a fund raising party. Your friends and family will have no objections to lending a few dollars to support your cause and less familiar people will not mind spending a little money to join in on the fun. This gives everyone a chance to come by and give a hand while having a good time. Keep admission at a reasonable amount, 5 to 10 dollars is an acceptable amount for most people. You can serve soft drinks and have a donation jar on the counter if you’d like.
A neighborhood movie night is also a great way to make money and people will come along for a great chance to spend time with the people in their neighborhood. Movie rentals are a lot more affordable today and most home television sets are large enough to entertain a sizable audience.
If you own a digital camera with clear resolution you can earn some extra cash by taking stock photos. A lot of web developers and publishers will pay for unique photos of everyday things. Photographing children and families is also a great way to make some extra funds. Some people would like to capture certain memories like a child’s track meet, a relative’s wedding or family reunion and would rather not spend money on a professional photographer. Amateur models and fashion designers may also need an affordable photographer. If you offer your services at a fraction of the cost, you can create a great opportunity for yourself. You can find all kinds of photography opportunities online or advertised in your local paper.
If you ask around your neighborhood, you will find that most of your neighbors need some sort of cleaning service done. Offering to do your neighbor’s yard, paint homes, walk dogs or wash their cars are all great ways to earn cash. All of these activities take a bit of hard work, but since you’re moving they will only be temporary tasks, so give it your all and you should be able to earn a nice amount of money to put toward hiring one of the moving companies in your area.
